She is a woman who cannot let go of her mistakes, her sins, as she was reminded of them without cease in the caves she'd fled to. She blames herself for much of what has happened, but instead of acting once more, she will later imprison herself in crystal of her own making. Yet it's evidenced that she (or rather, her ghost in the data she left) still cares greatly for what will happen to the planet. In leaving her data for others to find, she shows at least enough penitance to give them the tools to potentially stop the destruction that others would escalate long before the appointed hour.

Still, she is very strong-willed of character. Later in canon it's expressed with how she self-imprisons herself in crystal, but that was channeled into a new goal here in Crystallis during the seven months of wandering. Kalki had given her a new goal and purpose by summoning her with the others─firstly to protect those who'd been crystallized, secondly to survive. As a very goal driven woman, it was easy to focus on the task at hand─as is evidenced back on Gaia, where her goals to prove herself in a male-dominated field were obvious to those who knew her. It was her goal to prove her colleagues wrong about her "pseudoscience" and "utter nonsense" theories derived from the Cetran texts weren't just idle ramblings of a delusional girl.

To say she was passionate about her work would be an obvious understatement, but this passion was not just reserved for the sciences. Lucrecia truly cared for those around her, as is evidenced in the relationships she held with Vincent and Hojo─though the latter never really reciprocated her feelings. She is even almost motherly in her teasing nature. Though now it may be hard for her to fully express such things aside from her mask she used first to hide her ties to Grimoire's death, now that others know of her own sin. Now, she seeks to atone─and has a vain hope she could finally die while doing so.
